Scope

Steward Casebook is an organizing, documentation, and drafting tool for workplace casework. It is not a law firm, union representative, records-retention authority, or filing service.

User responsibility

Users are responsible for confirming deadlines, governing agreements, local practices, recording permission, representation rules, recipients, and the accuracy and appropriateness of every exported document.

Recording

Recording laws and workplace rules vary. The app’s permission gate does not determine whether recording is lawful. When consent or permission is uncertain, do not record; use typed notes and obtain guidance.

Generated and extracted material

AI output, OCR, transcription, search ranking, summaries, and masking can be incomplete or wrong. Steward preserves source context and review prompts to support verification. Users must review the original source before relying on an output.

Backups and transfers

Version 1.0 does not provide automatic cloud backup. Its optional encrypted case-vault backup contains cases and retained meeting audio, but excludes Agreement Library originals and unfiled Inbox items. Restores create copies rather than replacing existing cases. Users must store each backup and recovery key separately, preserve excluded material, and follow their organization’s approved retention, deletion, and transfer practices. A lost recovery key cannot be restored by the publisher.
